Which documents should you prepare to apply?
An application rests on your contact details and the business’s bank statements, not on a business plan. A lender may ask for other documents before making an offer; it is the one that decides.

- Which documents are needed to present an application?
- Your contact details and the business account’s bank statements for the last three to six months. Depending on the need, one document is added: the supplier’s quote for equipment, the invoices concerned for factoring.
- In what form should the statements be sent?
- As your institution issues them, preferably as PDFs; one multi-month PDF is fine. We never ask for your banking credentials.
- Do I need financial statements or a business plan?
- Not to present the application: the file starts from your statements. A lender may ask for them in its analysis, and each one sets its own requirements.
- What information about the business do you ask for?
- Its name, its legal form, how long it has been operating and how much comes into its account each month, in ranges. The sector and the intended use of the financing are optional.
- I don’t have my statements at hand: can I start?
- Yes. Your application is saved from the contact-details step, and you can add your statements afterwards.
What the lender looks at
- Actual deposits, month by month
- The statements serve first to read what the business takes in.
- Trend over the period
- Several months of statements show a direction, which a single month does not.
- NSF cheques
- Complete statements also show returned payments, and the lender reads them.
- How long the business has been operating
- You state it in the application; the lender sets its thresholds.
